Current Activity Profile -- Stéphane Blanc

Our laboratory examines the impact of the mechanisms of virus-vector interaction on the evolution of viral populations. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to study viral populations and their evolution. Specifically, our laboratory focuses on the following:

Molecular and cellular mechanisms of virus-vector interaction.
Virus-host plant interactions that prepare and optimize the future uptake of the virus by the vector.
Demographic fluctuations of viral popopulation during the virus life cycle in plant and in vectors. This includes study at the cellular level (multiplicity of cellular infection) in the plant.
Genetics of adaptation to new hosts--an experimental evolution project with CaMV.
Recombination of Begomoviruses, including the putative role of the vector in virus recombination with Tomato yellow leaf curl virus, TYLCV.
