The overall objective of PVEN sponsored workshops is to develop resources and ideas to accelerate research in the emerging international field of plant virus ecology. Above are links to upcoming and past workshops. Summaries of each workshop are available through these links. Please note the confidentiality rules, below.

Helen Alexander and Val Smith at the University of Kansas have kindly hosted the 5th PVEN workshop. It was held September 10-13, 2012 with participants arriving on the first day followed by 2 1/2 days of worksho discussions. A field trip to the Konza Prairie occurred in the afternoon of the 13th. A summary will be available soon.

In 2011, PVEN was hosted by our French members at CIRAD in Montpellier, France. The workshop was held 29 May - 2 June.

In 2010, PVEN joined with the International Committee for Plant Virus Epidemiology (ICPVE) to host Plant Viruses: Exploiting Agricultural and Natural Ecosystems, which was PVEN workshop three and the XIth International Plant Virus Epidemiology Symposium at Cornell University, June 20-24.

PVEN workshop 2 was held in conjunction with the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) at Ca' Tron di Roncade, Italy (near Venice) from 21 April (PM) to 23 April (PM) 2009

The first annual PVEN meeting was held at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, USA from 19 to 21 March, 2008
